Capitol Reef

Last week Chris and I went to Capitol Reef for a few days. It was fun to get away, especially since we had to work on the holiday weekend. We were both so excited to leave that we forgot our camera. But we were able to get a few pictures on my cell phone, then we bought a disposable camera, so the pictures aren't the greatest, but it was fun none the less and I decided that I am going to try really hard to get into better shape because we did a little easy hiking and I felt like it just about killed me.

PET PEEVES

I just wanted to share a few pet peeves of mine. I really just want to vent because I have been really annoyed at people lately. So here are some things that have been buggin' me lately:
  • When the song Manic Monday by The Bengals is played on any day except for Monday.
  • The fact that Prince's Party like it's 1999 is still played on the radio at all, it was 10 years ago folks. Let's get over it.
  • When people give their children difficult names and then get mad if you can't spell it correctly or pronounce it right. Guess what people, your child if going to hate you for giving them a ridiculous name in about 15 years.
  • When television sitcoms play holiday reruns in the summer. There is nothing more annoying to me than sitting in my house with the windows open, sweating, and the episode of my favorite T.V. show is celebrating Christmas.
  • When customers tell me how to do my job. Thanks sir, but I was trained to do this job and you were not. If you could just be a little bit patient, I am going a little slow so that I don't cause a problem for you later on, so please just stand there quietly and we will get it worked out for you.
  • I hate when people pull out in front of me and go less than the speed limit. REALLY! I also hate when people practically stop in the driving lane to make a turn. If there is no medium and no shoulder then it is acceptable, but all the roads I drive on have turning lanes and shoulders so there should be no stopping on the road to make your turn.
I know that this post is all about complaining I just had to get a few things off my chest.

Life Changing??

So a few weeks ago Chris and I were shoe shopping, for him of course, and in one of the many many shoe stores we were in that day there was this really random guy. He started telling us all about this study that said the less you spend on shoes the less injuries you had and all this weird stuff. Well he began telling me that I should read this book, called Born to Run. Well I sarcastically asked him if it would change my life and he very seriously said that it would and everyone he told to read this book said that it did, in fact, change their life. So I went out that weekend and picked up the book, who couldn't use a life changing book right? Well so far I am about half way through it. I have not have not reached the life changing point yet, but it is a good book and I love reading.

Also I have been wanting to loose some weight, okay I have been wanting to loose some weight for the past six years. So I am putting it out on the internet hoping that this will help my motivation. I think that if I know other people know what I am doing or want to be doing then I will be better about doing it. Or if nothing else just so that I write it down for myself as a goal and because it is written, I will have to do it.

So here's hoping.....

Moab

Chris and I went to Moab this weekend with a company called Rubicon Express, which is the company that did the lift on Chris' jeep. It was way fun! We went on Wednesday afternoon and the run was on Thursday morning. We did a trail in Moab called the pickle. I had never heard of it before, but I will be honest, I only know about 2 trails in Moab.

This is us before the ride.

This was the excitement for the day. We are actually leaning on our side at this moment.

Not awesome!!

So scary!

It looks much worse than it actually was, well it could have been worse than it actually was. If that rock wall wasn't there we would have been on our side, but also if the rock wall wasn't there we wouldn't have needed to go up the hill on the other side.

Luckily this was the only damage after all of that.

We actually got stuck a few times on the trail and needed to be winched out, but it was still fun, and kinda scary. I really don't enjoy doing stuff like this because I get really nervous.
We had a lot of fun and we came home on Thursday night, and turned around and went camping on Friday morning, until Sunday afternoon. It was so cold when we were camping, that is why there is no pictures of that, we were too busy trying to keep warm.
We actually woke up to snow on Easter morning. I think a lot of people did, but it seems much worse when you are coming out of a tent in the snow. It was a long, fun, exhausting week, but I would do it all over again.

Last Day

Today was my last day of student teaching. It is very exciting, but a little bit sad at the same time. I can not believe that 10 weeks went by so quickly. It was such a good experience for me and I learned so much. I am so excited to actually be a teacher and have my own class. I just have one more night of class, and then I have to pass my state test to get my license. I am happy to be done.

Half Way....

I am happy to announce that I am officially half way done. Half way done with what you may ask? I am half way done with my student teaching, which means that in only five short weeks I will be graduated, and on my way to getting a job. It is kind of scary and kind of exciting all at the same time.
