Missing Phoenix

Today I am really missing Phoenix. My car got stuck today in my work parking lot. It took over an hour to get my car out and only after someone towed it out.

Christmas Tree

We went up to Idaho the Saturday after Thanksgiving to cut down our Christmas tree.

Notice the knee deep snow that I am walking through. Not cool.

Here we are in front of our tree, before cutting.
I am the one who had to cut the tree down.
All decorated....

Phoenix Muddy Buddy 2010

Well we went to Phoenix last week to do the muddy buddy race. This year I did it with my sister in law, and Chris did it with his same buddy from last year. I won't bore you with the details of how slow I was at completing this race, lets just say it was bad, and embarrassing, but I finished and I am counting that as an accomplishment. Now for the photos....

I'm committed!

Or maybe I should be committed. I have committed to do this.

The race we are going to do is in Phoenix in November. I have to admit that I am so excited to go to Phoenix and get out of the cold that will start to come very shortly. But I am so out of shape, this is nothing new, but I am worried about being able to finish this race. Also it is a mountain biking race, and for those of you who know the story, you know that I had a bad experience mountain biking about 8 years ago and have not been on one since. I am so nervous about that part, what if I get hurt? Oh well, but here is my other commitment. I am committing to exercise EVERY DAY until the race. I know that I can do this. I will need to manage my time better, which is something that I am horrible at doing. So there, if anyone is reading this here it is, I am going to do this.

"What Teachers Make"

Someone sent me this video awhile back. I want to share it here because this is how I feel about teaching.

Capitol Reef September Addition

Chris and I went to Capitol Reef for the weekend with his Jeep group to do some off-roading. It was an excellent time and we got to see some parts of the park that we didn't get to see when we went down in May. It's amazing to me that you can drive a few hours in any direction, in Utah and get totally different scenery.

'nuff said

We took the long way home and stopped at Goblin Valley. It was a weird place and when I go to placed like that I always wonder what the ancient people in the area thought about it. It is something interesting to think about.

I'm pooped, time to hit the gym.

I'm glad to have my weekends back so that we can go do fun stuff like this more often, too bad that the winter will be here before we know it.

I'm Hired!

I am happy to announce that I will be employed as a full time teacher at Maple Lake Academy. It was so amazing how everything fell into place so quickly. I sent my resume last Tuesday and they called me for an interview on Thursday, I went on Friday and they called me on Monday and offered me the job.
Friday will be my last day working at Lowe's and I am so happy to start this new adventure in my life.

Random Pictures

Chris and I were driving home from the gym the other day and we saw these cows underneath a trampoline. I am unsure how they got under there, or how they were going to get out.

I saw this really pretty rainbow at my parents house the other day, pictures never do them justice.
I was driving to work and I saw this dog with a crazy hairdo. I want y'all to know I was sopped at a stop light when I took this picture.

Red Fleet

We went to Red Fleet with my family for a vacation a few weeks ago. It was pretty fun. Here are some photos....

Happy Independence Day

I love when the 4th of July falls on a Sunday. It makes for a whole weekend of playing and partying with family. Chris was scheduled to work the whole weekend but by a miracle I had Saturday and Monday off and only worked from 1-6:30 on Sunday. It was my mom's birthday on Saturday so we went to breakfast then hung out at her house all day with my sister's and their families. Chris and I went to the P.G. fireworks that night with my sister Cassie and her husband and daughter. They were kinda slow, but it was still fun to get out of the house for a bit.
On Sunday we went to my mom's house and did our own fireworks that night. It was very cold, I could not believe how cold it was. Then on Monday Chris and I went with his sister's family and his dad up to Forest Lake to have hot dogs and smores. That was the best part of the weekend. Here are some pics of our adventure.

Everything's gonna be alright.....

This is one of my favorite songs right now. Things are so up in the air with our lives and whenever I have a bad day I just listen to this song really loud in the car and sing along, I always feel better after.

Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell on Wednesday. It was so much fun. Powell is by far one of my most favorite vacation spots. We had a great time.

Happy Birthday

My birthday is tomorrow. I am not excited for my birthday at all this year. Normally I love my birthday. I usually plan a big party with my whole family complete with hot dogs and cake, not this year. This year I have to work, not only do I have to work, I have to work until 10:30PM. I hate growing up. Birthdays used to be so exciting, now it is just like a regular day. Oh well...

On a side note I got my birthday present a few weeks ago. A brand new pair of these... Mine are bright pink... But I also want this black pair.

NIKE FREE RUNNING SHOES

When I run in these shoes I feel like I am awesome at running. I know that it is probably just a mental thing, but I love, love, love these running shoes.

Update: I ended up getting the day off, and I went to lunch with my mom. It ended up being a great day.
